Auriga awarded three year contract to support eligible adults and families in Gloucestershire

Eligible families across Gloucestershire will be supported to buy everyday household items, furniture and white goods, thanks to a new contract, agreed this week.

Auriga Services in Sutton Coldfield has received a renewed three-year contract by Gloucestershire County Council to provide practical help to eligible adults and families requiring support and assistance via the Gloucestershire Welfare Support Scheme.

As part of the contract agreement, Auriga will handle all support for individuals, social care and youth support teams, as well as process rent deposit requests from partner agencies.

Mark Abrams, CEO of Auriga Services, comments: “Protecting low income and vulnerable consumers when it comes to their every day living and energy costs is a priority for Auriga. We are extremely pleased to be working with Gloucestershire County Council for another three years and to be pivotal in helping local people get back on track.”

The council is making it easier for individuals and family members to apply for support online with the development of a new electronic portal which will mean applicants get a much quicker response.

The new portal will be mobile and tablet friendly which means that customers without a computer will able to use the service and apply easily too.
