Auriga CEO named as IoD Regional Finalist for 2019
Chief executive of Sutton Coldfield-based Auriga Services Mark Abrams has been shortlisted as regional finalist in this year’s 2019 Institute of Directors (IoD) Director of the Year award.
Held annually, the awards recognise the individual expertise and achievements of those in senior levels of business.
Mr Abrams, who has been a director at Auriga for four years, is delighted to have been recognised. Prior to joining Auriga, Mark held directorships at a number of other companies and grew his own software company into being one of the largest Sage software resellers in the UK.
A specialist in customer-focused strategic thinking, he was a pioneer in founding an Internet Service Provider and Website design company in 1996, some 10 years before broadband was commonly available.
Since joining Auriga, Mark has led the company’s executive team to develop and deploy a mission, vision and values and a defined culture that bolsters the skills of the team, achieves company objectives and grows potential with customers and staff.
Mark comments: “What was so imperative to me on joining the business was the need to focus concerted attention on cultural and management change to enable transformational impact on the business.
“We’ve an exciting vision to help two million people by 2020, and we are on track to exceed this target.”
Mark’s breadth of experience, knowledge and passion for West Midlands business puts him in a strong position to go on to further success with the IoD.
He adds: “The IoD is a vital source of support and development for so many people in business and one that I have received a great amount of value from over many years.
“In such challenging economic times that we’re living through at the moment, the country needs skilled and knowledgeable business leaders now more than ever and, if successfully appointed as Director of the Year, it would be a privilege to share my wisdom and drive change where needed.”
