Eddie is 38 years old and lives alone. Their only income was Universal Credit and Statutory Sick Pay having been signed off work. He has been struggling with his mental health for over 2 years.

Upon completing a telephone appointment with Eddie, we identified that they would likely be entitled to Personal Independence Payment and learnt that their recent PIP claim had been denied. As a result, we started on helping them to submit a Mandatory Reconsideration. We wrote to the DWP and explained why we felt that the original decision was incorrect and were successful in having the decision overturned. Eddie has now been awarded the standard rate for daily living which will see his income increase by over £3,700 per year.

As well as a PIP claim, we also helped Eddie to complete and submit a claim for Limited Capability for Work- and Work-Related Activity (LCWRA). This claim was also successful, and he is now receiving an additional £416.19 in Universal Credit each month. Altogether his annual income has increased by over £8,500.

On top of his successful PIP & LCWRA claims, we were also successful in helping Eddie to be provided with £106 worth of food and fuel vouchers via his local councils Household Support Fund and were awarded a grant of £1281 to replace the carpets in his property.

He is very happy with the support that we provided throughout this time.
